The BSA National Jamboree will be held at Fort A.P.Hill, Va., July 26 through August 4, 2010. This is a pinnacle event for any scout or scouter to attend. This event is always special, but this one will be the celebration of one hundred years of scouting.
Penn’s Woods Council will be assembling two troops to represent the council, each made up of eight adult leaders and thirty-six youth. The selection process for adults has already begun, and while the council has not yet announced the formation of the youth segment, there is a place on line to start the registration process. Now would be time to get your name into the queue. There will be the opportunity to withdraw later with only a nominal registration charge, but maybe not a later opportunity to get on the list. If you have even the slightest interest, visit the Penn’s Woods Council website and follow the link to the National Jamboree registration.
While final cost have not yet been set, it is estimated to be in the range of $750. This will be the last Jamboree at A.P. Hill. The BSA is currently looking to establish a BSA-owned location for this event.
