official IUP typefaces

There are five official IUP typefaces: Garamond Light Condensed, Warnock Pro, Trajan Pro, Vectora LH, and Gill Sans. This selection of typefaces provides enough variety to address different situations, while maintaining enough consistency to create a unified appearance.

Garamond Light Condensed is the typeface used to identify the university name in the IUP wordmark. It is used only as a university identifier. Garamond Light Condensed is never used for any other purpose other than as the typeface for the university name.

The Warnock Pro type family (most commonly Warnock Pro Light) is used as a general body text typeface in IUP publications, advertisements, and for other general uses where a serif-style typeface is desired.

The Trajan Pro typeface is used primarily in “small caps” form for titling and major headings in IUP publications, advertisements, and other messages.

The Vectora LH type family (most commonly Vectora LH Light) is used as a general body text typeface in IUP publications, advertisements, and for other general uses where a simple, sans serif typeface is desired.

The Gill Sans type family is used as an alternate sans serif choice where a slightly more decorative type treatment, including a greater variety of weights, is desired.

All of these type families are available for Macintosh and Windows PCs through Adobe Systems Incorporated.

IUP Nameplate

Garamond Light Condensed (above) is used only to typeset the Indiana University of Pennsylvania name as an identifier for the university. This typeface is never used for any other purposes.
