The university photographer provides the most-often-sought asset of the Communications Office. Because photos are in high demand for the Web, publications, advertising, and media relations, the university photographer is not available for assignments by the university community. The university photographer will concentrate on projects that complement the work of the Communications Office, have a high return on investment, and are meant for mass media audiences.
For departments requiring photography services for programs, dinners, and special occasions, the creative services manager (Emliy.Smith@iup.edu) will arrange for photography at the requesting department’s expense. Please note that the university photographer, as a member of the AFSCME bargaining unit, has the right of first refusal, and so centrally providing outsourced photography services provides the most efficient way of meeting the university community’s needs. The Communications Office asks that members of the campus community seeking outsource photo services make the request two weeks in advance of the event.
