The IUP Government Contracting Assistance Program (GCAP) provides procurement technical assistance to firms interested in selling goods or services to local, state, and/or federal governments. We provide individualized assistance with marketing strategies to reach government agencies.
The following services are provided at no cost:
- Computerized bid matching of clients’ products with government needs
- Procurement and product pricing history reports
- Military specifications and standards
- Research assistance to target government markets
- Workshops, seminars, and training sessions
- Library of self-help publications and resource data
- Counseling and one-on-one support
GCAP is funded by a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense. Together with our affiliates located in Pittsburgh and Greensburg, we service businesses in Allegheny, Armstrong, Fayette, Indiana, and Westmoreland counties.
The IUP GCAP is part of a national assistance program administered by the Defense Logistics Agency (Department of Defense) and is commonly referred to as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP).
GCAP can help in the:
- Identification of preference eligibility and completion of applicable certifications
- Understanding of solicitation requirements and terminology
- Reviewing of bids and proposals
- Completion of mandatory/beneficial registrations
- Providing of “up to the minute” information on government processes and procedures
- Explanation of how the government uses electronic transactions
- Implementation of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
