Requirements: High School diploma and pass PDE- Printing Certification Occupational Competency Evaluation and other certification requirements. Responsibilities: LCCTC Digital Design & Print Media is Nationally Certified by the Printing Industries of America. The course covers the fundamentals of electronics illustration and digital image preparation. Students work with the industry-standard Adobe CS 3 software in a Macintosh environment. Curriculum: Scanner operation, with an emphasis on color separation, correction, proofing and trapping. Students learn file management and output to digital document systems as well as image setter output through a Postscript work flow. In printing, students develop skills in image assembly, film assembly, platemaking and offset press operation. A study of color theory and application introduces materials and technologies used for color reproduction process printing. Students also gain experience in finishing and binding and production development.
