The Master of Arts/Teaching English (MA/TE) program is offered in response to recent national studies of teacher training that focus on the value of research on teaching literature, composition, and language through academic course work and supervised field experiences.
This program is designed for in-service secondary English teachers who are interested in advanced, in-depth study in the teaching of English and for students with a bachelor’s degree in English (or its equivalent) who wish to pursue initial teacher certification through the Praxis exams. This program is one of the few in the state designed for this purpose. Learn more about the program.
