B.S. - 1977 Anderson College
M.S. - 1980 Virginia Poly. Inst. And State University
Ph.D. - 1983 Indiana State University

Field

Physiological ecology of vertebrates, evolutionary ecology of vertebrate energetics, and parasite (helminth) ecology

Interests

My main area of interest is the physiological ecology of animals. I am currently studying the effects of stressors such as metals or salinity on the metabolism of a variety of fish species. I am collaborating with Dr. John Peles of Penn State on many of these studies.

Publications

Pistole, D.H., J.D. Peles, and K. Taylor. 2008. Influence of metal concentrations, percent salinity, and length of exposure on the metabolic rate of fathead minnows (Pimephales promelas). Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, Part C 148: 48–52.
