The fibers program provides students with fertile opportunity to develop their work in a dynamic and interactive studio setting.
With experimentation in the studio, combined with critique and personal investigation processes, each student will find his or her direction. Emphasis is placed on in-depth study of relevant fiber traditions, on contemporary technologies, and on specific individual topics. The facilities include a fiber computer lab with a sixteen harness dobby loom and accommodations for a wide range of work in fibers such as surface design, weaving, papermaking, and feltmaking.
