Scholarship Background

The David J. Rovnan Memorial Award was established in 1989 to honor the member of the Penn who best represents the journalistic ideals and practices and the high personal and professional standards set by David J. Rovnan, an IUP Journalism alumnus who served as the Penn editor in 1984.

The scholarship was established through the generosity of the Joseph Rovnan family and by the contributions made by his many friends, fellow students, and colleagues.
