The University Senate passed the policy governing workshops and other special-offering credits on May 8, 1979. Special-offering credits are defined as those credits earned through independent study, individualized instruction, special topics, workshops, or any combination thereof. The policy states that a degree candidate may submit no more than six semester hours of "special credits" toward his/her degree as approved by the degree program.
