Program credits earned at IUP or accepted by transfer are applicable to IUP master’s degrees over a period not to exceed five years from the date of their earning unless the period is extended through student petition approved by the student’s department and the dean of the SGSR.
Doctoral candidates must complete degree requirements no later than seven years after beginning IUP doctoral program coursework. No time extensions are considered for doctoral students unless all degree requirements, other than the dissertation, have been completed before the expiration of the seven-year time limit. This includes, but is not limited to: completion of all coursework, successful completion of the comprehensive exam, and an approved RTAF/IRB on file in the SGSR.
