IUP-Preservice Teachers of Mathematics

IUP-Preservice Teachers of Mathematics (IUP-PTM) is officially recognized as a university organization through the Center for Student Life. The purpose of the organization is to provide leadership, service, and programs for preservice elementary and secondary mathematics education students at IUP. 

Organization activities include service projects such as Famiily Math Night and programs such as panel discussions by alumni from the IUP Mathematics Department who are working in the field of Mathematics Education, and a session on interviewing for a job as a mathematics teacher.

Any student majoring in Elementary Education, Middle Level Education (Mathematics Specialization), or Secondary Mathematics Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania may become an active member. The group is also officially recognized as an affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
