The format of the Ph.D. program accommodates full-time students and working professionals pursuing doctoral study. Offered in a blended format, some coursework is delivered on line coupled with on-campus classes that meet on weekends five to six times a semester.
The program offers both full- and part-time options. Part-time students take some classes with the full-time students who started the same time they did and some with the full-time students who started the year after them. This mix provides the supportive environment of a cohort model for all students while allowing a wider range of interactions with other students in the program.
- Full-time students take approximately three courses per semester (including Summer) and can complete the coursework portion in about two years.
- Part-time students take approximately two courses per semester (including Summer) and can complete the coursework in about three years.
- Students may make arrangements, in special circumstances, to adjust their course load or take an alternative load that does not match the full- or part-time cohort model.
