Parents of Transfer Students

Congratulations on your student’s acceptance to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP)!

Coming to IUP is exciting new stage for your student. We have developed the Transfer Parent and Family Orientation Program to help you better understand your student’s transition to IUP, our unique requirements, and to become acquainted with our campus and its resources. As a parent of an incoming IUP transfer student, you may choose to attend a one-day summer Transfer Parent and Family Orientation. The (optional) program runs simultaneously, but entirely separate from, the concurrent (mandatory) Transfer Student Orientation Program.

Fees for the Program Include:

Some of the Featured Topics in the Parent and Family Program include:

  • Academic programs and policies
  • University costs, financial aid, and payment plans
  • Residential life and dining hall information
  • Tour of the residence hall facilities

The document IUP Transfer Parent and Family Orientation Process 2016 provides greater detail about our programs, related fees, and outlines the step you will take to register for Orientation. Your student will receive a separate mailing with instructions for enrolling for the transfer student orientation program. Please note that their letter constitutes an invitation to the program, not automatic enrollment. They should enroll for Transfer Student Orientation, as directed in their letter. You may enroll in the Parent Program after your student has enrolled in the the student program.

Enroll for your Transfer Parent and Family Orientation here. You will be directed to use our secure, online service where you will complete your enrollment form and make payment for your visit. We accept E-Check, MasterCard, Discover, Visa, or American Express for payment.

Because you will play such an important role in the adjustment of your student to college life, we sincerely hope that you will join us for the Orientation program for parents. If you have questions or concerns, you may e-mail us at (preferred) or call us at 724-357-4067 [Voice/T/D] between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday–Friday.

Welcome to the IUP family, and we look forward to meeting you!
