Essay Test

You have two options with the essay test: a writing prompt or a reading prompt. You have a limited amount of time during Orientation to complete the essay test, so read over each option to see which suits you best. Prior to coming to Orientation, you are permitted to study these prompts and prepare an outline of your essay. The outline can be no longer than one page in length. You may include a one-sentence thesis statement within your outline; other than a thesis statement, the outline cannot contain any complete sentences. You are not permitted to write any portion of the essay (other than the thesis statement and outline) prior to the testing session.
