The IUP Chamber Singers is the ensemble that specializes in works for small choirs from all historical periods. This choir performs a broad spectrum from early Gregorian chant to contemporary rock cantatas. Competition to be a member is often intense. This choral ensemble rehearses every M-W-F from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Cogswell Hall Room 120. Chamber Singers is offered for one credit (MUSC 121 001).
Membership in IUP Choral Ensembles is by audition only. Auditions will be held in Cogswell Hall, Room 111. Find a convenient time on the sign-up list at the door and enter your name. It is not necessary to prepare a solo for your audition. The director will vocalize you to hear the weight, color, and range of your voice and play some simple melodies for you to repeat. All students from across campus are encouraged to audition.
