Time-saving professional nutrition intervention, brought to the physician's office
Community Nutrition Services (CNS) is directed by Dr. Susan Dahlheimer, with Ann Roberts Jesick, M.D., serving as medical director. Graduate dietetic interns in the Department of Food and Nutrition provide counseling services.

CNS provides services for Indiana residents, IUP faculty and staff, and IUP students with medical needs. The goal of CNS is to provide high-quality nutrition intervention and counseling in either a physician's office or in the CNS office. CNS state-of-the-art preventive health-care services are convenient, comprehensive, and cost effective and can help the physician supply patients with an added value to the office visit.
What CNS Provides
- Nutrition intervention to the community through counseling, education, and research activities
- Evaluation of food intake, health status, and blood composition using computerized diet analysis; cholesterol screening; body composition testing, including bioelectrical impedence; and glucose monitoring
- Specialized counseling for diabetes control, weight management, cholesterol control, eating disorders, pregnancy, lactation, athletic training, general health and wellness, high blood pressure, and other medical problems that require nutrition intervention
