Several scholarships and awards are given to students through the IUP Computer Science Department. Students in any class year—from freshman to senior—can apply and be awarded. Some are scholarships and others are small cash prizes.  Either way, the Computer Science Department strives to reward outstanding students because they are the future of this ever-changing field.

Computer Science Student Awards

Barry Day Outstanding Computer Science Student Award
$500 award given to outstanding IUP senior Computer Science major
Computer Science Alumni and Friends Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship given to promising incoming freshmen as incentive to attend IUP
Howard E. Tompkins Scholarship
Established by the founder of the IUP Computer Science Department, this scholarship is typically awarded to an outstanding female junior Computer Science major.
