IUP Computer Science programs have a well-earned reputation for producing interns that draw high praise from the industries that sponsor them. A computer science internship normally lasts one semester and one summer (Summer/Fall or Spring/Summer); the minimum length is twenty-three weeks. Interns are paid and earn 12 academic credits. They also gain valuable experience that they can cite on their résumés. The most common type of position that interns get these days involves three-tier architecture, working on one or more of the components; however, there are a wide variety of positions and companies.
