Education
B.S. in Education, Major in Physics, Minor in Mathematics, California University of Pennsylvania, 1963
M.S. in Nuclear Science, University of Michigan 1968
Research
I published several reports on the results of physics testing of the Light Water Breeder Reactor installed in the Shippingport Atomic Power Station in Shippingport, Pa.
I published many classified reports on the results of physics testing of nuclear reactors installed on naval warships.
Teaching
I taught physics at Carrick High School in the Pittsburgh Public School system for three years from 1963 to 1966.
I was a math coach at Uniontown High School forv three years from 2004 to 2007.
I taught math courses at Intermediate Unit One in the summer. These included algebra, trigonometry, and preparation for the middle school Praxis exam.
I have been teaching physics courses and labs at Indiana University of Pennsylvania since the Fall 2007 semester. These include SCI 101 lecture and lab, SCI 105 lecture and lab, Physics 105, and General Physics 1 and 2 labs.
Accomplishments
I worked as a nuclear physicist for Westinghouse and Bechtel at Bettis atomic Laboratory from 1968 to 2004, when I retired as a senior scientist. During this time, I performed analyses and physics testing on nuclear powered submarines and surface ships and the light-water breeder reactor.
Hobbies
Studying military history, especially concerning the U.S. Navy
Building model railroads
