Mandatory Orientation Program for Spring 2015

IUP provides a mandatory three- to four-day International Student Orientation Program for all new students. You are required to attend. It is not optional. It will cover basic and important issues which will enable you to settle quickly into life at IUP and the Indiana community itself. Even if you have had prior experience in the U.S., we require that you attend. You can also download the International Handbook

Submit the “International Orientation Arrival Form” in MyIUP (IUP Computer Account). After receiving your visa and making flight plans, follow instructions for logging into MyIUP. In MyIUP, choose “Student Services” and then “International Orientation Arrival Form.” E-mail questions to intl-education@iup.edu.

About the Orientation

On the first day of Orientation, a breakfast will be served buffet style, and an orientation packet with the complete schedule will be distributed at that time. Students are required to arrive for the first session on this day, and subsequent sessions that will be held until classes begin.

Note: One to two meals per day will be provided during Orientation. Dining halls will not always be open; please be prepared to pay for any additional meals during this time.

Placement Testing at IUP

Please note that all undergraduate students (freshman and transfer, as well as exchange students who are interested in taking English or Math courses) must take English and Math tests to assist academic advisors with course registration and accurate course placement. Testing is mandatory and will be conducted during Orientation. No preparation is necessary for these tests.
