Mission and Goals
To present a wide variety of performing and visual arts events—both visiting artists and department-produced—for the area community and campus population that will
- Complement and support the academic programs offered by the College of Fine Arts
- Focus on artistically and culturally significant presentations and complement the events offered by OnStage and other campus presenting organizations
- Further IUP’s commitment toward gender balance, presenting—on an annual basis—women artists and/or performances/exhibits about women
- Further IUP’s commitment toward cultural diversity, presenting—on an annual, rotating basis—artists and performances of a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds
- Serve as an artistic, social, educational, and economic resource for organizations, programs, and businesses in the Indiana area and the greater region
- And serve as an artistic, social, educational, and economic resource for other campus organizations, departments, and programs
In Support of the Lively Arts
Certain events are additionally funded by grants from Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, a program developed and funded by the Vira I. Heinz Endowment, the William Penn Foundation, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the Pew Charitable Trust, and administered by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
