Nadav and Nancy Baum Family Scholarship
This scholarship, created by two IUP alumni, provides assistance to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need. No application is required.
Russell A. and Leah L. Berry Wilkinsburg High School Scholars Memorial Scholarship
Established in honor of Russell A. and Leah L. Berry to provide scholarship support to a graduate of Wilkinsburg High School (Pittsburgh, Pa.) who will attend IUP full-time and can demonstrate the self-reliance, maturity, and flexibility required to deal with the challenges and opportunities associated with IUP’s academic programs. Preference will be given to the candidate who has maintained the highest academic standards while in high school. In the case where two or more candidates are equally qualified academically, financial need will be the determining factor. Applications are distributed to qualifying candidates.
Gloria J. Croft Bolinger Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School. The Tussey Mountain administration and faculty select recipients.
Ruth Bowman Memorial Scholarship
A discretionary scholarship awarded to a talented and deserving freshman student. No application is required.
Colonial Motor Mart Scholarship
Established by the Spadafora family in honor of their employees, this scholarship is awarded to academically talented students enrolled at IUP who have graduated from an Indiana County high school. Preference will be given to children and dependents of employees of Colonial Motor Mart, Colonial dealerships, and Colonial Land Company.
Edith Davis Eve Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year students of high academic merit who have financial need and reside in Blair County, Pennsylvania. No application is required.
Goldstrohm/Citizens’ Ambulance Scholarship
Awarded to an employee or dependent of an employee of Citizens' Ambulance Service, Inc., who is actively enrolled as a full-time or part-time student. Applications are available at Citizens’ Ambulance Service. Deadline is April 30.
W.R. Hevner Family Scholarship
Larry J. Hevner, a 1970 graduate of IUP, started this scholarship to assist graduates of Harmony High School in Westover, Pa., who enroll at IUP. Representatives from Harmony High School select recipients.
James A. Hughes Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for graduating seniors from Philadelphia public and charter high schools who participated in the James Hughes Memorial Leadership Academy. The Hughes Scholarship Committee will distribute the scholarship application in the spring semester of the students' senior year.
Charles and Margaret Kupchella Scholarship
Established by the children of Mr. and Mrs. Kupchella, this scholarship is awarded to a graduate of Blacklick Valley High School who has enrolled at IUP. Representatives from Blacklick Valley High School select recipients.
Joseph and Judy Kovalchick Family Scholarship
Awarded each year to a graduate of St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania, High School who attends IUP. Applications are available in the Guidance Office of St. Mary’s High School. Recipient must be in good standing and a Pennsylvania resident. Representatives from St. Mary's High School select recipients.
M&T Bank Scholarship
M&T Bank is offering nine $1,000 scholarships that will be awarded to incoming freshmen at the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) universities in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Mifflin, and Perry. Eligible students are required to complete an application form and write an essay.
Thomas and Flora McGrainor Memorial Scholarship
Offered to a student from West Shamokin High School who lives in the surrounding Dayton, Pa., area (where students previously attended Dayton High School) and who will be enrolled as a full-time student at IUP. Recipient must demonstrate financial need, a 2.5 cumulative grade-point average, and involvement in extracurricular activities and/or community services. Selection is made by the scholarship committee at West Shamokin High School.
John W. McNaul Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior from Somerset (Pennsylvania) High School who will be attending IUP as a full-time student and who demonstrates financial need. Representatives from Somerset High School select recipients.
Frank E. Moore Family Scholarship
Awarded to a nontraditional incoming freshman who has graduated from an Indiana County high school or who has been a resident of Indiana County for one year and who does not meet or is not eligible for other private support. Maintenance of 2.25 grade-point average overall is required. Preference will be given to those with children. Applications are distributed to qualifying students.
Morino Scholars Award
Awarded to academically promising and financially deserving undergraduate students. Preference given to students from historically mining communities whose parents or grandparents are employees or retirees or expired while working in the mines, who are in the upper 10 percent of their high school class, who score 1100 on the SAT, and who demonstrate a financial need. Eligibility restricted to graduates of high schools located within Indiana County. No application required.
G. William and Julia Musser Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to the most qualified incoming freshmen pursuing a pre-law major. Renewable if student maintains a 3.0 GPA. No application required.
Margaret M. Patton Foundation Scholarship
Established to assist students attending the university who are worthy and in need of such assistance. Preference will be given to students attending the IUP at Northpointe campus. No application required.
Carino Queen Evergreen Scholarship
Awarded to a resident of Indiana County, and to Indiana County’s Queen Evergreen if she attends IUP on a full-time basis. No application required.
Joseph W. Serene Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior from Indiana Area Senior High School who has enrolled at IUP, has achieved a good academic standing (3.0 GPA), is active in school and/or community groups, and demonstrates good citizenship. Representatives from Indiana Area high School select recipients.
Robert R. Sheetz Memorial Scholarship
Created to honor the memory of a 1971 graduate of IUP, this award is presented to an incoming freshman student pursuing a degree that will lead to a career that will serve the public good. Preference is given to graduates of Greensburg High School and residents of Westmoreland County. No application is required.
Stephen and Sandy Sheller Scholarship
This scholarship is offering five $1,000 scholarships for Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) university students who have completed at least 60 credits. Eligible students are required to complete an application.
Sons of Italy Recreative Club, Inc., Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to graduates of Indiana County schools, with the exception of Homer-Center, who enroll as full-time students at IUP. Applications are distributed to qualifying students.
Minnie Patton Stayman Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year students of high academic merit who have financial need and reside in the city of Altoona, Pa. No application is required.
Michael J. Supinka Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time entering freshman who is a graduate of Homer-Center High School and who demonstrates academic excellence and leadership qualities. No application required.
Tomb Family Scholarship Fund
A discretionary scholarship awarded to a talented and deserving freshman student enrolled full-time at IUP in a program leading to a baccalaureate degree. No application is required.
West Branch Area High School Scholarship
Awarded to graduates of West Branch Area High School, Clearfield County (or any named successor created by a consolidation of high schools), who demonstrate financial need and positive academic achievement. Representatives of West Branch High School select recipients.
Luhelen Grace Whisner Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, who demonstrates academic promise, good citizenship, and financial need, and who receives no other private scholarship support from IUP for academic or athletic performance. No application is required.
Isabella Wilkinson-Green/Kathryn Cepull-Woleslagle Scholarship
Provides a renewable scholarship to students born in five Southwestern Pennsylvania counties—Westmoreland, Allegheny, Fayette, Washington, or Greene—who demonstrate a history of volunteer service to elderly persons and/or homeless or abused animals; are enrolled as a full-time freshman at IUP in Family and Consumer Sciences Education (if none qualify, then students enrolled in any education major are eligible for consideration); have at least a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), B, or 80 percent at the time of high school graduation; and demonstrate financial need as verified by the Financial Aid office at IUP. Students graduating from either a charter school or cyberschool are not eligible.
First choice
A high school graduate of Ligonier Valley School District who resides in Laughlintown, Pa., at the time of graduation, or a high school graduate of Woodland Hills School District who resides in Turtle Creek, Pa., at the time of graduation.
Second choice
A high school graduate of Ligonier Valley School District who resides in Ligonier Township, Pa., at the time of graduation, or a high school graduate from Woodland Hills School District who resides in Forest Hills, Pa., at the time of graduation.
Third choice
If a student from Ligonier Valley School District or Woodland Hills School District is not eligible, then the scholarship may be awarded to a student who was a resident of Westmoreland, Allegheny, Fayette, Washington, or Greene county at the time he or she graduated from high school.
Coraopolis Wolves Club Den IX Scholarship
Provides a scholarship to full-time undergraduate students who graduated from Moon, Cornell, or Montour school districts and who are in the upper quarter of their graduating class. Awards may be renewable based upon maintenance of good academic standing and availability of funds. Recipients are selected by the Coraopolis Wolves Club Scholarship Committee based on a listing of eligible students who meet the criteria. No application is required.
