Dr. Kelly Heider, IUP Libraries’ education librarian, serves as bibliographer to the following departments and programs: Professional Studies in Education, doctoral program in Professional Studies, doctoral program in Administration and Leadership, Educational Psychology, doctoral program in Educational Psychology, Communications Media, and doctoral program in Communications Media. In addition to her collection development duties, Dr. Heider also provides instruction, reference service, web page development, and outreach to faculty and students in the College of Education and Educational Technology.
Stapleton Library provides access to several collections, all managed by Dr. Heider, that are of great interest to the faculty and students of the College of Education. These include the Children’s Collection, the Textbook Collection, and the Media Collection. Dr. Heider also works closely with the College of Education and the Preschool Counts program at the IndiKids Daycare Center to coordinate Wild About Books, a volunteer program for Early Childhood and Elementary Education students.
In addition to her service to the College of Education and Educational Technology, Dr. Heider also coordinates several programs which serve the entire university community. They include Breakfast-and-a-Book, the Treasures for Children Book Drive, and the Scholastic Book Fair.
