The University Police Department employs four full-time police officers whose function is to provide crime prevention services to students, staff, and faculty. These officers have advanced training in this area and provide a wide range of educational programs, including rape prevention and awareness, drug and alcohol awareness, personal safety, theft awareness, vandalism, and related issues. The crime prevention unit also offers a self-defense course for women titled Rape Aggression Defense or RAD. Crime prevention officers are also available to meet the special educational needs of campus groups and organizations.
