Anthony J. Battaglia

An avid learner, Battaglia has earned two degrees from IUP and is working on a third. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in in Adult and Community Education. He is in the process of completing a master’s degree in Employment and Labor Relations. He earned his culinary degree from the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in Pittsburgh.

Chef Battaglia brings a wide range of industry and teaching experience to his students. He has worked in private and country club positions and was the pastry chef at the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers for six and a half years.

His teaching resume includes a faculty position at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute where he taught both pastry arts and culinary arts for more than seven years. Chef Battaglia currently teaches students in the second year Baking and Pastry Arts program at IUP.

In addition, Battaglia is an experienced competitor who has participated in the World Pastry Championships in Las Vegas two times.

He continues to study advanced pastry techniques in numerous workshops led by the industry’s premier pastry chefs.

When he is not busy sharing his knowledge and experience with students, Battalia enjoys golf and running. (He has competed in eleven marathons.)
