Chef Battaglia has a B.S. degree in Accounting from IUP and is currently completing the IUP master’s program in Adult and Community Education. He earned his culinary degree from the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute.
In addition to having worked in a private club and a country club, Chef Battaglia was pastry chef at the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers for six and a half years. Before coming to IUP, Chef Battaglia was a faculty member at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute where he taought both pastry arts and culinary arts for more than seven years.
Experienced in competition as well as teaching, Chef Battaglia participated inthe World Pastry Championships in Las Vegas two times. He is an avid learner and continues to study advanced pastry techniques, having participated in numerous workshops led by the industry’s premier pastry chefs. Chef Battaglia enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with his students. He also enjoys golfing and running and has competed in eleven marathons.
Chef Battaglia teaches students in the second year Baking and Pastry Arts program at IUP.
