Areas of Interest

All areas of development with children and their families, especially young single parents. I enjoy teaching students that plan to work with children and families and providing them the skills to be objective, and dedicated to the well being of all families.

I was a family day care provider in my home for 16½ years. I had opportunity to work with a variety of families and children during that time. I have worked with pregnant and parenting teens, provided counseling to children, adolescents, adults and families.  I have consulted with Children and Youth Agencies, addressing family preservation, family reunification, and adoption. Working with those agencies I wrote court reports and was deemed an expert witness in two counties. Through the years I have provided numerous workshops about working with families at the local, regional, state, national, and international level. I have been associated with Indiana County Child Day Care for 42 years and with Indiana University of Pennsylvania for 22 years.
