Self-Care Service

A self-care service is located within the waiting area of the Health Service. Over-the-counter medications, first aid supplies, condoms, educational materials, and instruction sheets for self care are available.

The following self-care items are available free of charge:

  • Acetaminophen/Tylenol - fever reducer, analgesic
  • Ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil - fever reducer, analgesic
  • Phenylephrine- relieves nasal congestion
  • Chlorphen - relieves upper respiratory allergy symptoms
  • Robafen - cough expectorant
  • Cough drops/throat lozenges
  • Antibiotic ointment/bandaids
  • Disposable oral thermometers
  • Condoms

Be sure to take an active role in your health care by:

  • Taking medication as directed
  • Returning for follow-up visits as needed
  • Practicing good healthcare habits (i.e., washing your hands frequently, eating well, getting enough exercise and sleep, maintain healthy relationships, and reducing stress)

To use the Self-Care Center, simply swipe your I-Card at the Health Service kiosk and request Self-Care Medication. Go to the Self-Care area and choose the medication or information you would like. Take the colored form to the window and receive your items.
