Captain and Desert Storm Veteran U.S. Air Force serving for 10 years. Trained in chemical warfare and to care for patients exposed to toxic chemicals.  Currently teaches maternity nursing and disaster awareness courses at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. For seven years has served on the Indiana County Health and Human Services Disaster Subcommittee, Indiana University of Pennsylvania Pandemic Flu committee, and volunteers as an American Red Cross Disaster Health Nurse.  In 2009 received the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control Division of Injury Response Award from the Center of Disease Control for her work on the Disaster Subcommittee. Teaches a disaster course for all majors at IUP and is currently developing an online disaster course with Dr. Cindy Zidek.
