Community Service

Troop 11 is actively involved in community service, an integral part of the Boy Scout program. Over the past few years, Troop 11 has participated in all the following activities, most on an annual basis:

Adopt-a-Highway: Since the beginning of this PennDOT program, Troop 11 has maintained a two-mile stretch of Rt. 286 between Indiana and Clymer.

Scouting for Food: A BSA national promotion, Troop 11 has actively collected nonperishable foodstuffs each year to fill local food banks.

Eagle Scout projects: Our Eagle Scout candidates plan and execute service projects that benefit churches, parks, and many other local entities.

Participation in these and other service projects help the Scouts to learn the value of community service and reinforces "A Scout is Helpful."
