Collection Development

The Collection Development Department coordinates the process of identifying subject areas for which print materials are to be collected, determining the depth and breadth of the subject areas to be collected, and deciding on the formats of those materials. This coordination effort ensures that collections are developed to meet the needs of the university community while remaining within budget, availability, and compatibility constraints.

Libraries bibliographers work with subject department liaisons to prepare orders of library materials, disseminate information about the library that would be of interest to department faculty members, and assist department faculty in any other way to make the best use of the library and its resources.
