Biography

Dr. Boldin is a professor of finance (since 1978). In the early 1990’s, he became the co-director of the Management Services Group which comprises several organizations focused on economic development. He became the director of the Indiana County Small Business Incubator in 1997.

His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, an MBA from Duquesne University. He holds an MA and PhD in business and applied economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Before joining IUP in 1978 he served as assistant to the treasurer at Carnegie-Mellon University. In addition, he held faculty positions at Clarkson University and at Franklin and Marshall College.

His teaching and research interests include banking, bankruptcy, emerging markets, and valuation. He has served as a consultant for the World Bank, USAID and other smaller firms and organizations. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Macedonia during spring 2007.
