Stage Combat Club (IUP)

The purpose of the IUP Stage Combat Club is to provide opportunities for IUP students interested in the art of stage combat to learn the history, techniques, and methodology of stage combat.

While most of the skills accrued in the club will be useful only in the careers of performers, any individual who is a student at IUP may be a member of the club. Given the nature of the art and the inherent risks involved with theatrical weaponry, members of the IUP Stage Combat Club must hold themselves and each other to the highest standards of safety and cooperation possible.

There is no stage combat that is ever worth unnecessarily compromising the safety of the performers and/or the audience.

Any regularly enrolled IUP student will be eligible for membership. Honorary and faculty membership may be conferred upon persons vitally interested in the art of stage combat.
