Below are some very important updates you will need to know. You may want to print this page along with the FAQ page for your college fair.

  • All majors that students apply for are reviewed on a rolling basis. This means they can apply for these majors at any time throughout the year. However, there is one major that students must apply for by Dec. 15 for admission consideration. After Dec. 15, the top applicants from the application pool will be admitted to this major. The major is:
    • Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
  • For students in Pennsylvania, be sure they apply and have been accepted by October 31 to be considered for the Sutton Scholars Program. We will be reviewing applicants between now and October 31 and inviting those top students (SATs and GPAs) to campus to interview for a possible Sutton Scholarship. Students receiving this scholarship must have high SATs and GPAs and must also interview successfully. There are no special forms they need to fill out. If they have applied and have been accepted by Oct. 31, they will receive an invitation by mail to interview on campus. The Sutton Scholars Program will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013. There are two types of Sutton Scholarships. One is a one-time $2,000 scholarship, and the other is a $2,000 scholarship renewable each year for a total of eight semesters.
  • Any out-of-state student that was recommended to IUP by an alumna/alumnus (alumni can be Pennsylvania alumni or out-of-state alumni, but the student recommended must be out of state) may be eligible for a one-time $500 scholarship their first-semester freshman year. The student must not only be admitted to IUP, but must commit to attending IUP as well (meaning they have deposited the nonrefundable $150 tuition deposit). Alumni are limited to only one recommendation. In order for the student to receive the scholarship, alumni must complete and submit the Nominate a Potential Student form, located in the “Get Involved” section of the Alumni website.
  • Remember, there is an automatic tuition discount for students coming from the states of New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. Students from any other state who graduate from high school with a 3.0 will also receive the discount.
