I am getting a Prerequisite/Test Score Error in URSA? Why can't I take the class?
- If you do not meet the prerequisites for the course, you cannot take the class. Check the IUP catalog for the course prerequisites.
- If you have taken the freshmen placement exam and your score is not high enough, you will need to take a lower level course as preparation. Your faculty adviser should have this information.
- On occasion, students who attended IUP before the new placement exam was implemented or who did not take the placement exam will receive this error. Please see the Department Chairperson in Stright Hall room 233 for help in determining which course you should take.
Can you give me my ALT PIN for registration?
Your adviser has your ALT PIN. Please make an appointment to see him/her.
I need a tutor. How do I find one?
Keep in mind that your instructor can help you during regularly scheduled office hours. Group tutoring by graduate students is available at times posted in Stright Hall. The Learning Enhancement Center also has tutoring in Pratt Hall. If you are looking to pay for individual tutoring, the department office does, on occasion, have a list of students who are willing to tutor. You can check with the secretary in Stright Hall 233 to see if any students are willing to tutor.
