The Spanish Department hosts two yearly conferences:
On April 24, 2009, the department will hold the IUP Spring Methodology Conference on Foreign Language Teaching.
On October 17 and 18, 2008, the department will celebrate the thirty-fourth annual Congreso de Literaturas Hispánicas.
