Minor in Elementary and Middle Level Mathematics

The minor consists of 18 credits in elementary and middle level mathematics education. The minor may offer additional preparation for the teaching of elementary and middle mathematics. This minor does not lead to certification and is not open to students majoring in the Middle-Level Education 4-8/Mathematics Specialization.

Required Courses  12 credits
MATH 151, MATH 152, MATH 471, MATH 456

Controlled Electives  6 credits
MATH 317, MATH 420, MATH 457, MATH 458, MATH 459, MATH 461, courses for math mjors and minors including MATH 105 and above

MATH 151 and MATH 152 are the prerequisite courses for the other courses in the minor.  The other coursework can be taken in any order.
