Lifeguard Recertification Class

American Red Cross Certification

Purpose

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Recertification course is to provide currently certified lifeguards with refresher on the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

  • This course will recertify all lifeguards using the 2012 American Red Cross Lifeguarding Program.
  • Certifications Include: Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR for Lifeguards (All certifications are valid for two years)

Requirements

  • Must bring copies of current certifications to the first class.
  • Must be present for all classes.
  • CPR must be certified at the same time as lifeguarding.

  • 1:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
