ARP Qualifying Annuities for AHCP Enrollment and Sick Leave Payout

  • Verification of an annuity (of at least $10,000) must occur prior to enrollment in the AHCP and the payment of unused sick leave
  • Examples of qualifying annuities for each ARP vendor are as follows:

TIAA-CREF

  • Lifetime annuity
  • Interest-only option (IPRO)

Fidelity

  •  Lifetime Income Annuities: can choose from Genworth, Hartford, ING, John Hancock, Mass Mutual, and Principal   

ING

  • Life income
  • Life income with 5–30 years guaranteed
  • Life income with cash refund (available for fixed payouts only)
  • Joint and full survivor
  • Joint and full survivor with 5–30 years guaranteed
  • Joint and full survivor with cash refund (available for fixed payouts only)
  • Joint and 66-2/3 percent of 50 percent survivor (payments reduced on death of either)
  • Joint and 50 percent contingent (payments reduced by 50 percent only upon death of annuitant)

  • Single life annuity
  • Joint and survivor annuity
