American Red Cross Certification
Purpose
To train instructor candidates to teach water safety, including the Basic Water Rescue and Personal Water Safety courses, six levels of Learn-to-Swim, three levels of Preschool Aquatics, and two levels of Parent and Child Aquatics. When completed, the student will be able to work as a swimming and water safety instructor.

Prerequisites
- Be at least 16 years of age on or before the last day of the instructor course.
- Be able to swim the following strokes at an American Red Cross Level 4 (proficiently): front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke.
