Carousel Slideshow

You can place a carousel on any webpage, creating a slideshow of photographs that can display from one to four images at a time.

Carousels can be the full width of the page, half-width, or quarter-width. A carousel:

  • Can contain any number of photographs
  • Automatically cycles through each photograph
  • Allows you to optionally link each photograph to a web page

Note: Carousels are replacing the Viewmaster slideshow. If you have a Viewmaster slideshow on your page, please replace it with a full-width carousel as soon as possible (smaller carousels are also an option). See Adding a Carousel to a Homepage for more information on replacing a ViewMaster.

  • Carousel images are much easier to format than Viewmaster images.
  • No thumbnails are required.
  • Carousel photos are viewable by mobile devices, whereas Viewmaster images are usually not.

Which Size Carousel?

Carousels can be the full width of the page, half-width, or quarter-width. (While “edge to edge” is an option in the carousel smart form, it is actually too wide and crowds other page elements, and so should not be used.)

After deciding which size carousel you want, you’ll need to prepare the images.
