Recreation Membership Fee

A new Recreation Membership Fee will begin in January 2013. This membership will allow use of the Zink Gyms A & B and provide reduced fees for participating in recreation classes. The fee has been introduced to supplement the fees that the students pay to maintain the recreational facilities.

The fee is $100 per semester, $250* for the year (Fall, Spring, and Summer), or $5 daily (the daily fee must be paid for at the front desk of Center for Health and Well-Being between the hours of 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday). *Membership entitles you to 12 free daily guest passes.

The swipe system has been introduced to have accurate information about who accesses the IUP recreation facilities for planning and reporting purposes related to safety, risk management, and operational support.

These fees are payable online or at the front desk of the Center for Health and Well-Being (CHWB), located in Suites on Maple East (901 Maple Street).

    There are two ways to pay the Recreation Membership fee: you can register for the membership by visiting the IUP Marketplace, or you can stop by the front desk of the CHWB (ground floor, Suites on Maple East).
  3. How do I pay the Co-Op activity fee?
    Visit the Student Cooperative Association website and fill out the activity fee form that pertains to you.

  5. What if I am an Indiana community member and don’t have an I-Card?
    You will be eligible to purchase the Recreation Membership fee under the category “Friends of the University.” Once a membership is purchased, you will be given a membership card to access the facilities.
  6. If I am taking a Recreation class that requires a fee, do I need to have a Recreation membership?
    No, you do not need a Recreation membership to participate in a class. If you have paid the Recreation Membership fee, this will entitle you to pay the IUP student discount rate for any recreation classes.
  7. May I use the recreation facilities during unscheduled times if I have paid for a recreation class?
    No, you may only use the facilities during the specific class time.
  8. Who is required to pay the Recreation Membership fee?  Retirees, alumni, spouses, families, and friends of the university who do not pay the Co-Op Activity fee.
  9. If I have a valid I-Card, do I have to pay a Recreation Membership fee?
    No.
  10. If I have paid the Student Co-Op Activity fee, do I have to pay a Recreation Membership fee?
