Arrival Procedures for Punxsutawney Campus Orientations

IUP Punxsutawney Orientation: January 17, 2016

  • The Punxsutawney January orientation is held on the IUP Punxsutawney campus. Students should report to the campus as designated by the Punxsutawney campus.
  • The January orientation program check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. on the first floor of the Academic Building, outside Room 122 on the Punxsutawney campus. Remember to eat breakfast prior to arrival.
  • You will be required to follow your placement results when scheduling for classes, both now and in the future. Therefore, it is imperative that you take the testing seriously and prepare for the exams by reviewing the sample tests on our website. All students take the English, math, and reading exams. There are no sample exams for the education readiness exams.

  • Students’ orientation fee will be added to their 2016 spring semester bill.

Review, print, and/or bring with you the following information:

  • Essay information
  • A calculator labeled with your name if you wish to use it for the math exams. Only approved calculators are allowed. (There are both regular and scientific calculators available on the exam itself. If there is any question about the calculator you bring, it will be disallowed.)
  • Note that you should not rely on prior experience for the MATH exam. Be sure to review the sample questions.

Remember that enrollment in the program constitutes your being on campus and fully participating in the program throughout its duration. Do not plan to leave before the program ends.  After the program, you will proceed with Punxsutawney campus “January Welcome” activities.
