The Position: The Eberly College of Business and Information Technology (accredited by AACSB International), Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), invites applications for one tenure-track Accounting faculty position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses effective August 2013 or January 2014. Due to planned program expansion to include a Master of Science in Accounting and anticipated retirements, preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: tax, auditing, forensic accounting, and accounting information systems. Also, an interest in the oil and gas industry would be a plus. Rank (associate or full) will be commensurate with qualifications, including prior teaching experience, published research in accounting, demonstrated service, and professional certifications in accounting.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting preferred. Applicants who are ABD with significant progress toward completion will be considered. Other candidates with terminal degrees or ABD in a related business discipline and having a demonstrated research interest in accounting will be considered. Degrees from AACSB-accredited institutions are preferred, and professional certification in accounting is desirable. The position requires evidence of effective teaching, demonstrated publishable research, commitment to service, and strong communication skills. The faculty member may be assigned to provide instruction at off-campus sites and/or instruction through distance education. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the campus interview(s) which may include a teaching demonstration.
