Why IUP?
The IUP education department is well known, I enjoyed working with the faculty on my minor in educational psychology and it also has a great reputation for placing their graduates in jobs right out of school.
Why school psychology?
I’ve always loved working with children and enjoyed my experiences during my student teaching as well as working as a TSS. The educational Psychology minor I completed during my undergrad solidified my interests in the field. School Psychologists can help to improve a child’s academic and social experiences by working in collaborative teams with some of the primary influences in the child’s life including parents, teachers and other administration.
Personal interests:
I am looking forward to working with teachers on effective teaching strategies because of my education background. I am also very interested in working with collaborative teams on setting up intervention plans for children exhibiting problem behaviors and more specifically, drug and alcohol addictions. My music background has led me to take great interests in effective special education and gifted programs.
