Please make sure that you check the following items before leaving IUP:

  • RSVP for Commencement: RSVP on URSA to confirm your participation at Commencement. Go to the Student Services, Academic Records, RSVP link to do so.
  • Mark Your Calendar: SALUTE TO GRADUATES, Co-op Bookstore, April 16, 2013.
  • Verify Degree Requirements: Are you sure you have completed all of your degree requirements? Check with your associate dean or graduate coordinator if you have any questions regarding your major, minor, or concentration.
  • Ordering Transcripts: When ordering transcripts, don’t forget to check “hold for degree” on the form. Final clearance for degrees by colleges/departments takes approximately four to six weeks after grades are posted.
  • Your Diploma Name: Your diploma will bear your full legal name in accordance with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governor’s policy. Your diploma name will be the same as your transcript name in URSA.
  • Getting Your Degree: Degrees are awarded by the colleges four to six weeks after grades are posted. Once this is done, diplomas are printed and mailed out. Make sure the Registrar’s Office has a correct address for mailing your diploma.
Note: This can be different from your regular mailing address. If your diploma mailing address changes, a written, signed notification needs to be sent to the Registrar’s Office.

Do You Have a Loan?

  • If you have a Perkins loan, you should receive a letter in the mail in late November with instructions on how to complete your Perkins loan exit information online. You may also contact the Bursar’s Office at 724-357-6461.
  • If you have a Federal Stafford loan, it is important for you to go to the National Student Loan Data System website and complete the exit counseling session.

Your E-mail Account

Your IUP e-mail account will become inactive 60 days after graduation. We are pleased to tell you that a new alumni service will be available—IUP Live Mail. This provides e-mail accounts for graduates and alumni with an IUP connection.

More information is available at IUP Live Mail Account Setup. If you have any questions, please contact Alumni Relations at alumni-relations@iup.edu.

Best wishes for success in your future endeavors!
