Tyler Wilkinson joined the Counseling Department in the Summer of 2012. He completed his doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Auburn University. His dissertation focused on the development of cognitive complexity in supervisees during their graduate clinical practicum experience. He has a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling.

Dr. Wilkinson has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings with individuals, couples, and families. Additionally, he has helped coordinate and lead various court mandated groups with domestic violence offenders and individuals struggling with addictive behaviors. His research interests include supervision, counseling student development, marriage/family issues, sexuality, and technology in counseling and education. Dr. Wilkinson is an active member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.

When he is not working, Dr. Wilkinson enjoys spending time with his family, training for his next run, trying new restaurants, reading, or meeting new friends. He is currently contemplating getting a family dog.
