Dr. Susan Dahlheimer

Dr.Susan DahlheimerDr. Dahlheimer’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Carnegie-Mellon University, a Master of Science in Nutrition from Penn State, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Dahlheimer is a registered dietitian, a licensed dietitian nutritionist in Pennsylvania, and is a Fellow of the American Dietetic Association, now the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Dahlheimer received the Pennsylvania Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award in 1999.

Dr. Dahlheimer has taught over 20 graduate and undergraduate courses in her tenure at IUP. Currently, she teaches both undergraduate and graduate Medical Nutrition Therapy, the Battle for Perfection, a course about body image and disordered eating, and graduate level nutrition counseling, and eating behaviors. Dr. Dahlheimer has also held the position of department chair since 2002. Her research interests include nutrition counseling strategies, evaluation of dietetics education, and disordered eating behaviors.
