RAINN Day: Thursday, September 25, 2014RAINN

According to RAINN, one in six women and one in 33 men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. College-age women are four times more likely to be sexually assaulted.

It may be a common crime, but it doesn’t belong on our campus. So, each September, the Haven Project sponsers RAINN Day. RAINN is the largest anti-sexual assault organization in the U.S.

Sexual Violence RibbonRAINN Day is our way of supporting this organization’s effort to educate campuses, support survivors, and take a stand against sexual assault. Come to the Oak Grove and see our display of umbrellas, and show your support for survivors.

Hundreds of volunteers help us to get the word out that this type of violence shouldn’t be part of our campus. We are once again looking for volunteers to help us in a variety of ways. Contact Haven Project at haven-project@iup.edu for information on how you can volunteer.

If you have questions or would like to speak to someone about an assault, help is available. Contact the Haven Project at the Alice Paul House (24/7) hotline at (724) 349-4444.
