With a background in psychology, political science, and law, Veronica Villalobos has worked for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in addition to her current role as director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. In that capacity, she manages strategies and initiatives designed to create a more diverse and inclusive federal workforce. From this perspective, she discusses diversity that includes persons with learning disabilities and physical challenges, and how their inclusion creates a stronger workforce.
In this session, participants with and without disabilities will develop a greater understanding of the steps the Federal Government is taking to become a model employer for people with disabilities. Participants will learn more about:
- The Presidents Executive Order to Increases Federal Employment of People with Disabilities;
- How to apply for federal jobs using the Schedule A hiring authority for people with disabilities; and
- Federal disability recruitment and hiring programs.
